Stuff about me.
The Short Version.
Hey, I'm Jakala Collins. For over a decade, I've had the joy of helping dancers grow. And I'm not just talking about technique. I'm talking confidence, leadership, and overall love for movement. Along the way, I've come to realize that, yes, creating choreography is fun and all, but my favorite part about it has been building people, building programs, and helping other educators create spaces where dancers can truly thrive.
These days, you'll usually find me teaching, choreographing, leading community classes, creating resources for dance educators, and coaching.
I believe dance should challenge us, connect us, and remind us that we're capable of more than we think. Whether I'm working with a first-time dancer, a seasoned coach, or an entire dance program, my goal is always the same: to leave people better than I found them.
Whether you are here to work together, take class, or just curious on what it is I've got going on ... I'm happy you found your way here.
